Top 5 BEST St Petersburg FL Restaurants That Your Kids Will LOVE

First things first: kids can be picky. We get it. We have nieces and nephews.

Even if you're blessed with kids who are willing to try everything but the kitchen sink, a part of a memorable restaurant is the experience.

So, our list here is based on three things we find essential to a dining experience:

  1. Service

  2. Food

  3. A Unique Atmosphere

Caution: Don't read them when hungry.

Option #1:

Doc Ford’s

Location: 610 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grill has a robust menu of fresh seafood, sandwiches, and even a dedicated kids’ menu!

Here’s a little fun fact to tell the kids: The restaurant is named after a fictional marine biologist from the book Sanibel Flats. The author, Randy Wayne White, is the owner of the Doc Fords!

Encourage your kids to try the crab cakes or share the peel-and-eat shrimp while you responsibly enjoy one of their craft cocktails

After dinner, your kids will be begging you to explore the St. Pete pier. They’ll drag you to the nautical-themed Glazer Family Playground to the Discovery Center or family picnic area. All before convincing you to let them play in the fountain splash pad!

Doc Fords gives you a true taste of a beachside paradise that locals (sometimes) take for granted.

Option #2:

Noble Crust

Location: 3942 Tyrone Blvd N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709

When it comes to kids, you can’t go wrong with pizza! Noble Crust is a deep south Italian restaurant with a menu that offers something for everyone in your family.

Besides the delicious, zesty thin-crust pizza options, we recommend the impossible meatballs or the chicken parm sandwich.

Plus, the entire restaurant has that vibe to it. With the open kitchen, outdoor seating, and retractable (yes, retractable) roof for those breezy Florida days, it’s like being at a family get-together— but with culinary excellence.

Option #3:

The Toasted Monkey

Location: 678 75th Ave, St Pete Beach, FL 33706

We've found some of the best restaurants in St. Petersburg, Florida at the beach!

With a waterfront view, live music, and fabulous cocktails, The Toasted Monkey is nothing short of a good time for your family.

It's a colorful atmosphere with decor your kids will definitely want pictures with! The extravagant menu boasts many options, such as burgers, tacos, sandwiches, and seafood.

A picky eater's paradise.

The Hanger - St Petersburg FL Restaurants

Option #4:

The Hanger Bar and Grill

Location: Second Floor Albert Whitted Airport, 540 1st St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33701

Located just outside the famous Albert Whitted airport, this is one of the most unique restaurants in St. Petersburg, Florida.

It's not located in the actual airport. Instead, this aviation-themed restaurant is built just on the edge of St. Pete, overlooking Tampa Bay.

Not only do you get a view of the tropical skyscape, but you'll also be able to see the runway where Cessna aircrafts take flight!

This restaurant is built to give you and your family a taste of history— and tasty diner food.
Take a look at their menu and plan to stop by Albert Whitted Park to experience "observation areas overlooking the airport and an aviation-themed playground."

Option #5:

Fo' Cheezy Twisted Meltz

Location: Various locations

All kids love grilled cheese, but as Fo' Cheezy says, this "ain't yo mama's grilled cheese!"

Fo' Cheezy is owned by Robert Hesse, the 5th place winner on Seasons 5 of Hell's Kitchen. Heese is a St. Pete native that frequently gives back to the community. On top of his own No Kid 86 non-profit, Heese "hits the streets" to source local products for their sandwiches.

This restaurant is colorful (paying homage to old-school hip hop) and fun. The sandwiches are stacked with local ingredients, so you might want to share. To give you an idea of what your average Fo' Cheezy grilled cheese looks like, here's what's in their "Cluck Norris":

  • Smoked gouda

  • Aged cheddar

  • Southern fried chicken

  • Pickled red onions

  • Dill pickles

  • Cut slaw

  • Fire aioli

  • Nashville hot sauce

  • Hot shake

Hungry, yet?
